Will you happen to be in Dubai in early April? We definitely are! The Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference – short: GISEC – will take place again in Dubai from 26 to 28 October 2020. In 2020 there will be a joint German trade fair participation for the first time and we are looking forward to be there as co-exhibitors!
What does Dubai stand for? The capital of the Arab Emirates (UAE) is not only their largest city with shopping paradise and XXL buildings en masse. Dubai has become a hub for digital trends and innovations and is already being hailed as the Middle East’s answer to Silicon Valley – Crypto Valley. From robotics, blockchain and AI to virtual reality and genetics: Decision-makers, developers and experts from the desert are working on the digital world of the future with organizations such as “Youth Hub” and the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). GISEC has been the forum for IT security technologies in the Gulf region since 2013.
What GISEC has to offer …
Decision-makers from over 200 government agencies as well as the leading companies from the Middle East have been coming to GISEC since 2013 to visit exhibitors such as Dubai Electronic Security Center, Dubai Police, Smart Dubai and many more! From Secret Briefings to the Dark Stage to an unparalleled lineup … GISEC is not only one of the most influential cyber security trade shows, but also overshadows other events in terms of innovation and diversity: Visitors to the show can see celebrities such as the anonymous hacktivist Hector Monsegur (known by the pseudonym Sabu) and the security expert and hacker Bryan Seely live.
Cracker SABU at large for the FBI
The famous former anonymous hacker “SABU” decided to cooperate with the FBI after his arrest. In this cooperation, he helped to prevent well over 300 cyber-attacks with estimated damage to over 50 million US dollars and to convict over eight dangerous hackers. He now works as a consultant for the US military and NASA.
“I broke Google Maps” – what Bryan Seely has to say
Hacker and former Marine Bryan Seely will also be on-site for the first time: The only hacker to have managed to eavesdrop on US intelligence, the FBI and uncover over 20 million social security numbers. The former Marine likes to hack Google Maps to draw attention to security holes there.
